Public Speaking

I never dreamed I’d be interested in public photography, and certainly not after spending a ton of money on cameras with the great outdoors in mind. My photography took an unexpected turn as I reacted to political events in our nation. I felt a sudden need to help with grass-roots messaging, and before I knew it, I found myself in front of public speakers, capturing emotions in faces instead of colors in sunsets. It felt great to donate my work and time for causes I believed in, and right away, I was guilty of loving the experience. Authenticity, empathy and compassion are among the most admirable of traits, and when they can be captured in a speaker’s face, they’re as beautiful and as satisfying as any sunset I’ve ever stood in awe of.

To me, at least! 🙂

Here are some photos which I always stop to look at, taken from various events around my town.
